That's what I mean. And that's the truth. SEO guys aren't the first people to make money off of other folks ignorance. Hell, that's how most businesses run. From auto repair to going to the doctor.
But we're not discussing skills. We're discussing PROMOTION. New eyes that would have never found them otherwise.
And unless an seo guy can get a number one spot for a huge keyword that the site would never have had a crack at otherwise then I just don't consider that to be "promoting" something in the classic sense.
No offense toward you. I know you make great money with your seo skills. I'm just trying to tell this guy how to get new sales in to a great niche. He probably hasn't taken a few minutes to make sure his site can be high up for his niche. So it's probably wide open for seo guys to use their knowledge and skill to make easy money.
