No. My point was going back to the original post in this thread that said she basically felt that a 16 year old lying to/manipulating a 13 year old so he could bang her and a 28 year old doing the same to a 16 year old were the same thing.
We can expect kids to be stupid and to lie and cheat and do dumb stuff. And we forgive them and hope that they will learn from this and grow up and become better people. But we should expect an adult to already know this is wrong and not do it which is why the punishment for it is much more harsh.
As for your actual question in this post. At 16 a person can drive. Most probably shouldn't be driving, but they can. Should they be able to buy alcohol? No. Most 16 year olds are just not mature enough to drink responsibly. Should they be allowed to have sex? Sure. I would hope they always use protection, but there is no way to stop them from having sex. If they approach a 28 year old and, as the original poster says, "spend 6 months woo-ing" this person, that adult should still know better than to get involved with a kid.
