Dave if you are serious about wanting to kill one with a knife you can hit me up on ICQ (595832130). I used to go with a really good friend of mine all the time. I haven't gone in a while, but I still talk to him all the time.
Basically you ride around on a
swamp buggy with a couple dogs (usually a pit bull and a scent dog like a kurr dog or hound). When the scent dogs start barking because it smells a hog, you let both dogs down on the ground. You will follow the dogs on the buggy until eventually the dogs catch up to the hog. The pit bull will grab the hog by the neck or ears and you will jump down, grab it by the back leg and stick it in the ribs until it is down.
Depending on the area and how big the hogs are estimated to be, the dogs will wear protective vests and collars to keep them from being cut up. There is no guns or bows, just you and a knife.
It is the most adrenaline rushing experience you will ever have in your life I can promise you that.
