Sure, but the best thing of all back then is you got to see these bands in small places that fit a couple hundred...to a couple of thousand people. You got to see a lot of the same people at the shows, including the club bouncers. I used to take the train back from Brooklyn at 4 am all the way to the north Bronx, my parents would be eating breakfast I am walking in usually without a shirt on. You were allowed to stage dive back then, and slam dancing was more of an art....if the skin heads were in the mix you would get hurt for sure. Even at a local bar in the Bronx I ran into the guys from Anthrax since they lived a couple of blocks away. I met James Hatfield of Metallica in the Village at some record shop and he was like a regular dude.
