Federally the pot is illegal even for medical use = can not be used as a defense in determining if you broke other pot laws. One of the main reasons people get shit canned for such drug trials and few precidents are ever set. Often it is not the judge either. The judge just follows the law. It is the DA and if they DA asks for it the law kicks in and presto.
