I know it varies state by state. In California it is legal but you need to stay abreast of Penal Code section 417 (a). Which pretty much states that people can not draw a non firearm in a hostile, angry, threatening, or rude fashion. (yes wtf does rude mean? when is it rude or not rude to draw a non firearm).
