Look back to the drama in Diddy's life around the time that he was dating Jennifer Lopez and thinking that he had finally made it. There was that shooting at a club that Shyne did some time for and then Diddy started "wilding out" and was really getting in trouble with the law for assault and some other stuff.
He finally started to calm down right before he launched his series "Making the Band" and the failure of that really set him "straight". He saw that he wasn't "invincible" and had to act like a businessman.
Kanye, had better pay attention and deflate the ego a bit. Jay-Z and 50 Cent are two other good examples of rappers who caught on quickly to the business game and it has been proven to be in their best interests.
