CNN has a great story here
http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/...ess/index.html
It is about the main people behind the movement, their organizers and their goals.
Like I said before I think this whole thing started out as a real grass roots thing, but the republicans got a hold of it and turned it into a tool that they are using to try to reconnect with their base.
Here is a great quote from the article. This is from Sal Russo, a former Reagan staffer who is now working full time organizing tea parties. His started goals for the movement are: "They have three goals: Defeat President Obama's health care reform efforts, win back the House and Senate in 2010 and take the White House in 2012. "
Nothing about spending less or balancing the budget or being less corrupt. Nothing about halting the wrongs of the government. Just stop health care reform and win elections. Sounds familiar.
