You are very correct about the people in the biz with absolutely no technical knowledge of what they are doing, I am appalled at how few could even meter a shot, but in most cases those are the same ones dropping like flies

Actually a few months ago, I lead a discussion at the local college's film class and the issue came up about shooting porn and how the production value leads many to believe that just anyone can shoot it. But like I told them the same thing, if you do not understand filming/photography basics, it doesn't matter what you shoot, it will still look like shit in the end. It just seems those that shoot shit in porn can make more money with lack of skills than those in mainstream who make the same mistakes where many would end up fired for not opening their aperture or leaving their cams on auto focus. LOL
