"offered something in return"...offered what exactly? "Some scenes and pictures" from someone who's never shot adult before. The least you can do is quantify it so that someone might actually understand how much they're getting back from this multi-thousand-dollar leap of faith.

I did quantify it. The actual number of scenes with editing and stills is negotiable between me and the party. But because the party would be actually fronting the costs of the equipment, obviously they would get more content than the current going rate because of the risk they are taking.
