It happened in Detroit, very close to Dearborn, the joy/greenfield area. It was probably a side street and could've been the area his girlfriend lived. She was driving and he was sitting in the passengers seat when a man with a ski mask approached the car and fired a shotgun at Jerry, likely killing him instantly. The other guy that was murdered, name is Tom, in his mid forties. These facts are fresh and reliable since it happened several weeks ago. Tom was a next door neighbor of mine years ago and his uncle went to school with my Dad. His uncle told my Dad what happened.
It's no surprise that Tom battled with drugs and alcohol for years and never grew out of that phase that many people leave behind before it's too late. According to Pete, Tom was shot in the back of the head and the chest. That sounds like maybe two shooters but maybe not. The guy was caught and it happened on joy/wyoming a few miles east of where Jerry was shot. He was shot on Ohio st and it was likely an argument over money or maybe somebody was tired of Tom's mouth and shut it for good. I hung out with him for a short period in the 90's and if there was ever a time where I could've been caught in the crossfire it was definitely with Tom.
