that i knew personally - 3 - one was one my mom's best friends, she was over for tea the day before her acid tripping son chopped her head off, i was very young but i remember the husband/father in our house weeping that night, my father was an attorney and represented the son, pled him criminally insane, which was of course true. this is almost 40 years ago and the son is still around, in some halfway house for criminally insane.

the next i didn't know personally to talk to but saw her around the neighborhood all time, she was a very hot 19 year old girl who lived on the street our house backed onto - she was a cheerleader for the pro football team. her body was found naked on the front lawn of her parents house in the morning, she was still living at home - murdered. it was huge news, front page news, of course because she was a beautiful cheerleader and a possibe sex angle to it. Her funeral was in a church nearby and it was massive. i don't think they found her killer which is kind of amazing. I moved away, maybe the case was solved and I just never heard about it.

and the third, there were two twin brothers, at the time they were about 16, they were real waspy blonde kids, looked like British bluebloods, good looking, tennis players and into sailing, rich so they went to the prestigious private school. only time i'd see them is when they came over to visit my best friend at the time. that's the kind of friends they were to me, my best friend had grown up with them in another neighborhood, a rich neighborhood but when his parents divorced he went with his mom and they moved to our neighborhood which was middle class not rich - i was the friend from the new neighborhood, i kinda hated when they would be there cuz I was the one who had the least in common. well anyway, one day i went over to my friend's place, house was really somber and he looked like he was crying, i thought maybe somebody in his family had died. He told me something terrible happened, Chris, one of the brothers, had been found dead, murdered, under a bridge, in his red convertible MG (told u they were rich and preppy). That was bizarre enough but the story got more strange, Pete his twin brother, went into his dead brother's room, he found a letter from Chris addressed to him. In it, Chris told him about a very creepy relationship with another kid and told Chris that if anything bad ever happened to him it would be at the hands of this other kid. I always thought that this guy could be gay, very feminine looking. But at that age, who knows, lots of kids don't have girlfriends yet. So it turned out that he had been having something of a secret relationship with this other kid who was obsessed and in love with him. I guess Chris tried to end the relationship and the other kid snapped.
