It surely can't be that much difference in manufacturing costs to produce them. They should be at the $20 pricepoint, assholes.
Ok first of all they are NOT $50. In fact even new ones are under $30. It is more expensive at this point to make a blu-ray than a DVD. By the way 10 years ago DVDs were selling for over $30 which is $45 in today's money.

Let's see the price of some new and soon to be released movies on blu-ray that were just in theaters this year

Taken (Blu-ray) (2-Disc) (Extended Cut With Digital Copy) $22.86

Watchmen: Director's Cut (2-Disc Special Edition) (With BD Live + Digital Copy) (Blu-ray) (Widescreen) $19.86

Knowing (Blu-ray) (Widescreen) $19.32

Monsters Vs. Aliens (Blu-ray) $22.86

Proposal (2-Disc) (Blu-ray) (With Digital Copy) $29.86

Up (4-Disc) (2-Disc Blu-ray + DisneyFile Digital Copy + Standard DVD) $26.86

I Love You, Man (Blu-ray) $25.86

Obsessed (2-Disc) (With Digital Copy) (Blu-ray) $25.86

Just to name a few. In fact of nearly 1600 blu-rays listed at wal-mart.com 930 are under $20. 1250 are under $25 In fact les than 100 were over $40 a those were either TV series or movie series which one would expect to be more expensive.
