At least with Atkins, besides losing weight, I've had my blood sugar levels return to normal (I'm type II diabetic), and have a fasting sugar level of 88, and a 5.7% rate. It has even lowered my cholesterol level to under 200, increased the good chol & lowered the bad.

I was making a broad statement saying fuck atkins.

It was meant for the lazy who want a quick fix in weight lose.
atkins has helped a lot of people and has had the opposite effect also.
My advice to anyone checking out atkins is GO TO YOUR DOCTOR FIRST or read up on nutrition.
My neighbor started atkins and had a mini stroke (hes only 38 and thasts young.) too much protein for his system.
everyones body is different and any sudden radical change in eating habits have a profound effect on the body and shouldnt be taken lightly.
