Like any type of food it all depends on the source... Why buy store bought "organic"? Go down to the local farm and buy some veggies or a farmer's market or whatever. And free range eggs are definitely WAY better for you, for good reason though, the chickens get to feed off of bugs and they get a lot more exercise. Here's some stats:
• 1/3 less cholesterol
• 1/4 less saturated fat
• 2/3 more vitamin A
• 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
• 3 times more vitamin E
• 7 times more beta carotene
Once again it depends on the source... local farms are probably your best bet. If you've got some land yourself, pick up 4 chicks for $20. They cost about $0.10 a day in feed (for all four) if they're free range and will plop out about two dozen eggs per week! Plus they're fantastic for bug control
