Toplist Funnel System
Is it still worthwhile to setup such a system?
For those that don't know about the toplist funnel here the a brief description written by a guy a few years ago:
"It is very difficult to send enough hits to get on the top of a top list. There is, however, a method by which a webmaster can get on the top of not just a few, but just about any top list he chooses. This is by the creation of pages whose sole purpose is to send in hits to top lists. Acting in unison, generating thousands and thousands of hits if done properly, these pages, linked together, are known as a Funnel.
What the hell is a Funnel ?
A funnel, quite simply, is, indeed, a funnel. It is a collection of web pages designed for the sole purpose of generating hits to other top lists, a sponsor, and/or your main page. Constructing a properly working, self-generating, successful funnel involves a lot of time and effort. But, that effort pays off far greater than submissions to tgp's and search engines. For, a truly successful, enormous funnel can generate a hundred thousand hits a day. It's called a funnel because its purpose is to funnel hits to a central location. Look at hits as grains of sugar, and the pages as a funnel sending the grains of sugar to one place. It's that simple. A funnel is not simply a page with a lot of links, thought that is exactly what it looks like, if taken separately. One can not just go join a slew of top lists and hope someone clicks on the links. A proper funnel is a carefully constructed machine, a machine that generates its own power, its own hits, all by itself, so that the funnel owner can stop adding pages to the funnel, and go start another one! So, how do you make one, dammit? First, we find a top list. It should have no gateway, and have very few hits at the bottom link. We make a page, and that page is going to have three links: a link to the top list, a link to your target site, and a link to a blind link sponsor perhaps. Your target site can be a sponsor, your main page, or another top list, if you like. I make...
my Funnel Page One ...
this way: Sponsor, Main Page, Top List. Page One: We go to the top list we've chosen, and we add our link to the top list. We call it "Hardcore Free Sex" and sign up for the list. We're given a code, and we go back to our page, and we add that link to our page. We click on the link, and now, we have one hit in to the top list. When someone clicks on that link, they are going to go to your page you just created, fp1. They will click on the top list link, your main page, or your sponsor. This is a free hit that took you five minutes to get. Well, that's not what we're looking for. What if they don't click on anything, and just hit the back button? That's not very likely; only about twenty per cent of the clicks will hit the back button. But, there is a way to take care of that, too. It's called Ron's Back Button Script From Hell. I'll show it to you later. Page Two Now, we make page two of our funnel. It's going to have four links. The same or another sponsor, the same or another main page, the link to the first top list, and a link to a new top list. This is where some people get lost, so I'm going to use an imaginary top list here: Ron's Super Top List This is the link on Page One. It goes to my super-duper-neato top list, and it sends hits back to page one of your funnel. The new page,
Page Two ...
... is going to have this same link on it. It will be an exact duplicate, actually, of Page One, only, there will be a new link added to it. And, that's the new top list we've found, Ron's Crappy Piece of Shit Top List. We join Ron's Crappy Piece of Shit Top List, and add Page Two to it, calling it "Hardcore Naked Sex." That's the name of this page. We then place that link on Page Two, and we click on it. Now, someone clicks on your link, and goes to Page Two. They're faced with an enormous choice: Four links! Sponsor, Main Page, top list one, or top list two. Well, they hit the back button, and go back to the top list that they came from? Nope, cause Ron's Back Button From Hell catches them...more about that later, ha ha. Ron's Back Button From Hell takes them to top list one. Or, even page one. They're trapped. Only way to get out is to go to your sponsor, your home page, a blind link, or top list one, moving you up higher on that list.
Page Three ...
... will have five links: the link going to top list one, the link going to top list two, your sponsor, your main page, and a link to a new top list, "Ron's Naked Ass In Public" top list. We add a link to my ass, and go back to page three and add the link. We click on it, and find my fine ass top list. Someone clicks on that link, and goes to page three. They have five choices. They hit the back button, but they go to page two. They're trapped. Or, there is another cute trick we can do here. Let's go to top list two, Ron's Crappy Piece of Shit Top List, and ADD THE LINK to page ONE to that list! The top list is actually going to have two links to your funnel now --- page two, and the link to page one. That page does NOT exist. It never has, and it never will. It's simply a cgi script sitting on a top list. We'll call the link "Ron's Enormous Ego", and we add that link to ...
page four ...
... when we make it, but for now, it's going on the back button console, Ron's Back Button From Hell. By now, you can see that Top List One is producing some pretty heavy-duty traffic to your first page, because you've moved up in that list, maybe twenty hits in five hours. Wow, that's a lot to start. Page Four Page four will have only five links, not six, as you would expect. It's going to have your sponsor, your main page, the link to the top list for page two, and the link to the top list for page three. It's going to have a new link, top list four. It's going to have a back button console for "Ron's Enormous Ego" top list, sending traffic to page one through the cgi script we set up on page three, remember? Notice, we dropped a link. We no longer have a link on this page leading to top list one. We've done all the damage we're going to do to top list one for now. We now have a working funnel, but it will die of loneliness unless we keep adding links, right? Sure it will, he said with an evil grin. But, now we go back to Page One. We make a back button console for the top list link for page four! We now have a complete circle. The funnel is only four pages long; yet, it will generate traffic by itself, usually, unless we have poorly timed top lists and chose them improperly. So, to be safe, we add pages fix and six and seven...all dropping off one link and adding a new one. Now we go back to page two, and add a back button console to the top list for page seven. Page seven keeps page six alive, page six keeps page five alive, etc. Page two keeps page seven alive, and page four keeps page one alive, and vice versa. Such a simple funnel should have between ten and twenty pages. And now, we're going to go back to page one. It's going to have a console that opens a link to the top list for page twenty, or your last page. This will be an entrance console. Of course, such a funnel can be made entirely without the java scripts. I've made a one hundred page funnel without a single java script; I've made thirty page funnels with them.
Remember..!!
... the reason for existence of the funnel is not to be pretty, not to please the surfer at all. It only exists to generate traffic. There is basically NO content on the funnel pages; they serve only the purpose of getting hits. And, hits are money, cash, lots of it. By the end of the funnel, page one should be at the top of top list one. It should be getting a thousand hits a day, easy. And, so should page two, et al... With a heavy duty large funnel, you can sacrifice the rules in the middle of the funnel and add your sponsors to the back button, if you like. Or, you can feel free to add links from that page to other funnels, other top lists...you're getting a lot of hits on it, and you may as well use it"
