If your freehost allows some themes, you might try something other than the standard. Get rid of the links for Wordpress.org and wordpress.com, I would increase the text, and bump the image size a little. Get rid of your spam comment. Think about getting a small hosting account where you can have more control over things like themes and plugins.
It will take time for traffic to build so be patient. If all you can afford is a freehost, build another blog or two. Keep building, using more than one freehost. There are several, do a little research and good luck.
