"micro payments" are indeed what is needed for the ability to monetize content, but that would require some kind of wallet system, and microsoft pushed so hard for passport and it just didn't get there.

itunes is the wallet, so i can see the push to want to have adult apps on there, but Apple is clearly not allowing that, and if they did allow some in, they could change their mind any day and yank it out.

with dhtml/ajax/javascript , graphic design, and backend data serving, web pages are able to act more like software. some client systems i have designed used a web browser, but acted like software, with the easy ability to update via updating web code, rather than going with installed code.

i see the same opportunity in making iphone apps, but are built on web server technology, rather than iPhone OS and API.

Its good to see some are thinking this way.... i haven't seen any iphone apps that were outside of itunes, other than porn sites wrapped in iphone screen resolutions.
