No way bro. My favorite groups are Zep, Stones, Beatles, Aerosmith, etc.

Paul McCartney could buy and sell Fiddy Cent and hire him to mow his yard. The only two guys in hip hop that really made any money are Jay Z and Sean Combs. But even they aren't in the league of a Beatle or a Rolling Stones member.

Of course the old school guys have decades of earnings. So forget that for a second...just go back to say 1975. Rock bands were selling out stadiums. Even now the Stones sell out STADIUMS full of people. But go back to those old times.

Those bands were making millions of dollars back when a million dollars was worth a whole lot more than it is now.

I don't think we'll ever see Fiddy Cent fill up a stadium with fans. Hell, he couldn't fill up a middle sized civic center on his best day. I've been to a couple of hip hop shows, and they were almost like tent festivals.

There would be about a dozen "acts". All with a DJ. And the guy who is supposed to be the star of each act (for instance "fiddy cent") would be onstage with 20 other black guys all screaming and yelling out of time to the beat and grabbing their cocks. I literally had no idea WHO the supposed "star" was in each one. Just looked like a bunch of dudes on a corner with no rhythm to their "flow"

At least an old school rock star LOOKS like a star. You would damn sure know it if Steven Tyler walked up to you on the street. He has branded a look and style over the years. Meanwhile I couldn't tell Fiddy Cent from Leroy Jones on the street.

I know you're trying to be hip and shit Jim....but seriously...the music industry hasn't made any real stars since the 1980's when they started trying to control the entire creative process. Which of course eliminated all the truly creative artists and left us all with propped up "house niggaz" taking their orders from old white guys in suits.
