I disagree with you Jim. These "bad-ass" hip hop "stars" of today are nothing but show. They are corporate slaves who have their entire street cred image manufactured by their management companies.
DWB is right. The REAL rock stars from the 60's and 70's didn't fuck around. They fucked more women, did more quantities of more toxic drugs...and would kill your ass if you got in their face.
I was reading where Keith Richards had a house down in Jamaica and sometime in the late 1970's (when Keith R wasn't being held in Canada on drug charges)..Peter Tosh was staying at his house down there with his Jamaican mafia.
So "Keef" got on his private jet, flew down there by himself, engaged in a knife fight with Peter Tosh and threw his whole crew out on the streets.
These days the "bad ass" rapper would call his management team and US magazine. Or worst case scenario we would have a Biggy/Tupac "war" where neither of those two guys did shit but die. They had their "posse" do all the dirty work.
