Unless it is an assload of money or you really can't afford to live without it I would say just let it slide and lesson learned.

Once again... Sometimes you just have to take it on the chin and take it as a lesson learned. All you are going to do is brood over it and let it affect your well being. You can do this till your fingers are bloody and the guy still wont care. Scammers don't care about their reputation. The only way is to try to take him to court, but he won't show and you still wont see your money, only to spend even more money and you just end up back were you started.
You will never see that money.
