When I was a senior in high school I sat next to this real cute blonde in my American History class. Her name was Cindy and she was a total sweetheart. Always said hello, always asking how things were going in my life, you know... the usual stuff. I always wanted to "give her a try", but at the time I was seeing another girl and I'm definitely not the cheating type.
It was prom night and my girl and I had reservations at a real classy restaurant, I think it was called "Felipe's"... Italian cuisine of course, my girlfriend loved Italian, as did I. The spaghetti that night looked great, I had always had this romantic vision of our lips meeting after slowly sucking on a single strand of spaghetti. We decided to go ahead and order the spaghetti dish, one plate with two forks.
The spaghetti came out and looked wonderful. The scent of slowly sauteed mushrooms and garlic filled the air around our table, it felt like the one romantic date you had always dreamed of but never thought it would come true. We had finally finished up the plate and decided it was time to make our way to the dance. As all girls do, my love needed to retreat to the ladies room to freshen up before we left.
I was sitting in the lobby waiting patiently as this beautiful girl strolled into the restaurant with her party. What seemed to be her boyfriend and another couple. She had long golden blonde hair that went to her shoulders, luscious red lips that glistened as the lights hit them, and big beautiful blue eyes that possessed a magnetic force that my eyes couldn't sway from.
This beauty mumbled something under her breath but it took me a minute or two to realize that she was spitting out my name. Shocked at first, I stepped back and realized I was talking to Cindy! Wow, I thought! I always knew Cindy was a cutie, but I never pictured her being this beautiful. Silence filled the air as she slipped a folded up piece of paper into my hand and cupped it shut. After I realized what happened, she had already left the room and I heard my date making her way to the front. The mysterious, folded piece of paper quickly made its way to my back pocket.
While driving to the dance I couldn't help but wonder what that little piece of paper said. It wasn't the right time to pull it out and take a quick peek, my date would have noticed and started to ask questions. Parked at a stop light, her phone began to ring and I felt a sigh of relief. Finally, the few words on that snippet of paper would be revealed.
As the car pulled away from the stop light, my fingers slipped into my pocket and clamped down on that slip of paper. The sweat started to drip from my forehead once again and the paper began to stick to my sweaty palms, the anticipation was killing me. Quickly, I flipped open the folds to reveal four unforgettable words that were quickly scribbled with a purple Sharpie...
"Your fly is down!"
