Why the surprise? Everyone is going to be trying to get into the Iraqi market. Looking like the good boys now will pay off in the future. Remember this is the second largest oil reserve in the world.
The US will never look good here while they support Israel. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
Let Israel fight on it's own and more Arab nations will favour the US, support Israel and less Arab nations will support the US. Simple.
