I've had several Mercedes and BMWs myself and, to be honest, if I were to only be allowed to have only 1 car and had to choose between a BMW and a Mercedes - I would take the Beemer. he is wrong on the acceleration from a stop. the 63 engine will outrun both the m5/m6 from a stop until 120'ish. from there the m5/m6 will start taking the lead all the way to top speed.
the v10 lacks the torque that the 63 engine has to beat the 63 off the line.
the mercedes will also be more comfortable as the bmw is built with a stiffer suspension and more "sporty". the Merc will also have better luxury features then the BMW overall.
I'm both a BMW guy and a Mercedes guy and have owned both, and will continue owning both. They are both good in their own ways and sometimes better than the other in other ways.
