there is a difference between doing something and defending it as your right to do it. we all speed. we can all agree that people shouldn't be speeding and only an idiot would stand up and argue for the right to drive 100mph down main street... but there they are. supporters of torrent downloads proclaiming that its their god given right to drive 100mph through the middle of your town, ignoring traffic laws, cross walks, school zones or anything else. they don't advocate doing anything responsibly, their position is simply that you shouldn't be telling them whether or not they can drive 100mph through your town and FUCK YOU for trying to. And, they do absolutely nothing but mock you and spit at you while you try to be reasonable.
i download shit all the time. its wrong. i don't defend it as being right. its absolutely wrong... and i would never spend my time like some of these fucking idiots do trying to argue why its my god given right to take other peoples work for free.
... and when people have tried to steal what i've created, i've also reacted aggressively to stop it.... particularly in the VERY early days of video chat using java and people just embedding the video applet in any page they wanted to.... from developing new ways (at the time) to protect media, to going after individuals including one stupid fuck who lived in Moscow when i lived in Moscow, who got a nice surprise visit after telling me to fuck off via e-mail. i would expect someone to do the same if the shoe were on the other foot.
the only people who defend torrents are useless motherfuckers who don't create shit and who are mostly just acting out against authority like a 1/2 retarded teen. the world can do without both these types of people.
