They're VOIP phones (w/ PoE) and we run Asterisk ( http://www.asterisk.org/) and love it. Any PBX feature you'd want, endless flexibility and ability to customize, cost effective, and endlessly expandable.
We run it on a server in the office, not a big fan of the external managed solutions with it. I even have a phone/extension here on my desk at home which simply connects to my home network. I can dial any extension at the office, use our external lines, join a conference call, receive calls, etc. just the same as if I were at the office.

Why not already buy the Cisco ones? I know they are the similar phones, but they are same price.
There is nothing like have U/C. If you ever want to check out some of the Cisco suite, let me know. I can get very good pricing.
