I was just curious as I have never personally owned a server so I didn't see a benefit in paying the extra for owning it and just wanted to know... What's so great about owning a server other then the joys of having it physically moved when you decide to go somewhere else?

Just seems like a bunch of idiots on the board today. Didn't mean to be snappy at you.
The benefit is that you add an asset to your corporation, as well as freedom to configure your server as you personally want once you own it and normally (when the price isn't this low to begin with), colocation over a period of 12-24 months reduces your monthly recuring costs once you've amortized the initial capex of the hardware.
