I don't see anything wrong with meeting someone on the internet on a dating site or anything like that...

BUT

Since you did meet her in a bank and you didn't "meet" her on the world wide web, it's much more appropriate just to do it face to face. Go in, ask some generic account question, get chatting and have a couple of laughs-then strike while the iron is hot. If she says no, eh, whatever, you move on.

As a girl, if I opened some guys account and he emailed me I'd probably write back some lame response saying why I "can't" do it because I would think it was weird.

If he came back, was reasonably attractive, well mannered, polite and seemed reasonably intelligent and had something to say, I'd do it. But I'd just be put off by an email from a guy I just saw. I'd think the guy was scared of me and didn't have the balls to do it in person and would-based on that sheer fact, blow him off. That is just me. I am not all girls, but if you met in person-do it in person. Save on line asking out for someone you met on a dating site....
