I switched 2 years ago, and it hasn't stopped me from doing anything....and I do a lot of different stuff.

32 bit software works in 64bit os, but not the other way around. Plus you can use above 4GB for 64bit apps, and use the full 4GB for 32bit apps.

Make a dual boot, if you're not that comfortable with the idea.
