Hold on Juicy...they didn't all get shut down. Over 800 of them did.
And today over 1,100 GM dealerships are getting the pink slip as well.

That means that all those dealerships are sitting on multimillion dollar floor plans. They have to get rid of each model year within it's repspective year or they have to start paying interest on the loans for the vehicles.

So yes...it's a great time to buy a car from one of those dealers. And yes, you will still be able to get service at another dealer close by. And yes, parts will be there.

I've owned several vintage British sports cars over the years and any part I ever needed was a phone call and next day delivery to my door away.

I'm sure it's gonna be a lot easier to get parts for domestic cars. Hell, they're all "branded" anyway so the parts are plentiful at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. Plus there are still going to be plenty of dealerships around. That 1,100 number for GM represents 40% of their dealerships. So for the time being 6 out of 10 will still be in business
