I think that there are just as many psychological issues in a person who engages in behavior that directs insults in an attempt to elicit a response from another human being. You engage that person TRYING to make them snap and when they do you throw up your hands and say... WTF, this guy is crazy... Look at him, I didn't do anything.
Whether you provoke or react poorly, they both scream of some form of mental/emotional damage.
