I don't know exactly were we were because we came off of the carnival cruise ship at a port in Belize. The tourist shopping area was blocked off by a 10 foot wall all around. We took a horse and buggy ride outside of the wall which was complete garbage. It was pure ghetto. It was suppose to be a hour tour but which only lasted about 20 minutes.
Then we took a excursion over to the mayan ruins which we had to go over Wallace river and a 15 mile drive down a fucked up 2 lane highway that was shot all to hell with no traffic lights or stop signs. Come to think of it i don't thing i ever did see a traffic light or stop sign any were. Our driver kept pulling off the side of the road because the big ass tour buses would come whipping around the corners.
We stopped to see the snake man who was bit by his own snakes a few months ago. Got to the ruins had a nice time there. Bought me some cashew wine which i am sipping on right now.
As for the gas prices we paid i believe $2.12 per liter on may 7th. Here is a article about the gas prices in Belize
Gas Prices. The article is dated April 19 so its a few weeks behind.
Anyways if there is a nice section in Belize i would like to know were. Because everything we seen was run down and very poor.
