Hey I ain't agreeing with what she's doing onstage at all. An entertainer should go out there and give 1000% every night and be grateful to have that opportunity. And THEN after the gig get as fucked up as you want.

I was just sorta saying that what she's doing has been done a thousand times before. Hell, Keef fell asleep on his amp during some of those 1970's Stones shows because he was so drowsy from heroin. And Jim Morrison walked offstage in a drug stupor on most Doors shows. Most rock bands of the 60's and 70's were out of their minds on heroin and were lucky to bash their way through their sets.

It was cool back then because our culture was openly embracing drug experimentation. I'm just saying that NOW that it's not "politically correct" to do drugs (thank you govt. propaganda and "war on drugs") PLUS the instantaneous delivery of news via internet...it's treated like "OH MY GOD! A POP MUSIC STAR GOT FUCKED UP SO BAD THEY COULDN'T PERFORM!"

Not saying you did that. I'm just saying that it's breathlessly reported all over the internet, the news channels, and the trash mags like it's really something newsworthy.

I was just kinda good naturedly pointing out that if the internet had existed back in the 1970's we would have had daily pictures of Keith Richards or Steven Tyler and Joe Perry or Ozzy Osbourne or ~insert rock star name here~, looking like someone had just run over them accompanied by an article that would say that they sucked and were "done" and needed help to fight their "demons"

Hell, all we have today is Amy Winehouse and occasionally a little Lindsay Lohan tossed in for good measure. Today's pop stars are pretty tame in comparison to what the God's of Rock were doing 30 years ago. But you'd think that Amy Winehouse was the most decadent rock star off all times!

But until she has a midget with a silver platter of cocaine strapped to his head for ease of snorting like Freddie Mercury did...she's still little league to me.
