For the record you can NOT get the swineflu from eating pork
That is a fact.
Quote:
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack confirmed the Alberta incident will not change American trade policies on Canadian pork, and stressed there is "no justification" for bans since the virus is not food-borne.
"Some countries have imposed a ban on North American pork and swine products without scientifically justifiable evidence to support their actions," he said. "We urge these countries to base their decisions on sound science."

"There is absolutely no risk whatsoever of consumers catching swine flu from eating pork," said a spokesman. "This is a respiratory air-borne illness."

You can get swine flu from eating pork, bacon or other pig products.
FALSE, FALSE and FALSE! Memories of sick Thai picnickers are still fresh in many people?s minds from the bird-flu outbreak, so many people assume that with swine flu, you can catch it from eating pig products. Not true, say both the WHO and CDC:
?Swine influenza has not been shown to be transmissible to people through eating properly handled and prepared pork (pig meat) or other products derived from pigs. The swine influenza virus is killed by cooking temperatures of 160°F/70°C corresponding to the general guidance for the preparation of pork and other meat,? the WHO reports on its Web site.
Bacon lovers, rejoice!

Seems certain whole countries need to get a clue about it.

Root origin of swine flu explored: http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2...sh-origin.html
Speaking of origins, one guy named "ChevyNovaLover" posted this little gem on a mainstream board where people were saying it could be contracted by touching raw pork...
"Everyone needs to get their facts straight. Swine flu isn't anything new. It's been around hundreds of years. It's a sexually transmitted virus that originated via intercourse between humans and cerdo (spanish for swine). This immoral behavior is practiced often in Mexico and folklore has linked it to Montezuma's Revenge, as he too practiced human/cerdo sex. It has been contained by Mexico's borders for so long by basic anatomy. A swine's male reproductive organ is cork-screw shaped, as is the females vagina. Mexicans are the only other species with this same cork-screw shaped reproductive organs, thus this has contained the virus within Mexico's borders. Until recently, gay human/cerdo sex was unheard of. Now, it's becoming more common, thus allowing the virus to spread by non-Mexican men having intercourse with male swine (the male swine's rectum is not cork-screw shaped)."
