Good post. I have thought this exact same thing for some time. Not really as a negative, but that's just the natural way the universe works.
The net, like all things will be less and less free/equal as time goes by, the barrier of entry will increase, and the players will be a smaller and smaller group. It's just the natural way. I know people think that the internet is different, but nothing is different. Everything follows the rules.
