That's an interesting point, but think of this. If there wasn't a pay-as-you-go option, many phone users would manage without a phone rather than buy a monthly plan.
Currently many, many adult surfers are managing without a subscription. Give them a pay-as-you-go alternative, and you could find a vast number of people who are prepared to spend a few dollars a month. That's money into the industry that isn't there now, because currently there is no in-between. Its $40 or nothing.
ps Can someone tell me why the name of the person I'm quoting never appears in the quotes I do?
