That is probably true, although it is a bit hypocritical, considering the primitive belief system that the Taliban are trying to spread is the same exact legal system they use in Saudi Arabia, and we continue to embrace the Saudis like it is totally fine for women to be treated like dogs.
Earlier comments regarding a lack of oil and the involvement of nukes is the obvious difference. It's a sad state of affairs...
