Id also like to point out the irony of Sony Pictures being part of this lawsuit.
Sony is who sued in 1976 over being allowed to record movies back in the Betamax case. They fought for VCRs to be able to record television shows etc, but now do not think you have the right to copy a DVD you already own?

so sony doesn't think a vcr copy is a copyright infringement, but a copy of a DVD on your compute is... even despite the fact, you put it there from your own DVD.
