I had a guy force my front door while I was asleep in the front room. It was LOCKED but I found out later that the extra bit that allows you to slam lock it will actually let an intruder force the frame sideways and pop open the door.
Cops were very quick that day as they were nearby, another property was broken into while the kids were (alone) upstairs. Eeeek...
Needless to say I had an extra deadlock installed that night, partly for appearances but mostly for peace of mind. I also have a security camera at the front door now.
