You'd actually be surprised - ppl do not get to power by themselves, they usually get there because they are supported by the majority. In the case of Chavez (not a dictator - YET, but on his way to becoming one) he has the support of the majority in Venezuela, because he has done tons of things for the poor class - which is the overwhelming majority. The poor and uneducated do not know any better, so they follow their "fearless leader" blindly.

how do i know this? Cause Im from venezuela, and got out of there as the idiot started to get power.
