They will kill in retaliation, or just for the sake of asserting their dominance or just being "pissed off"
Some say a species of fox will do the same thing "not sure about that one"
And scientists are unsure about the polar bear as well

I know that there are some species of animals that will kill not only for food but as you say for dominance and probably for several other reasons as well but I am not sure that they derive the same twisted pleasure that some people do from killing. Who knows though maybe there are some deranged serial killing apes or koala bears out there somewhere
