Wow you had a horrible experience.

Based on that and being American i'd say forget it not worth it.

I'm sure the way you look didn't help they are very judgmental. I dunno if coming from Panama had anything to do with it.. It's a popular tourist destination for daring American college kids..

When I was there I was told nobody would fuck with me BECAUSE I was a tourist and nobody did.

I also made friends with a Taxi driver that basically took me and the 2 people I traveled with everywhere we needed and got rid of the cops when they stopped us.
