I have said this a few times, from experience if you promote anything other than a .com you will lose a lot of traffic as most people always think of .com first.

It is this reason alone that stops many brand owners spending lots of $$$ promoting other domain extensions.

So although many businesses will no doubt over time use the .tel , i think it will only ever be used for simple contact pages of no real value.
