We are not talking about stopping the investigation of a crime, we are talking about taking away the fundamental right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

Under the old laws, the copyright holder would have to prove that you were actually the infringer before they had a right to violate your privacy

under the new law, they get your info first.

See the difference you idiot.

all i am saying is that the RIAA should fix their identifying process so that can tell the differnence between an actual infringer and a print server that got hacked was only a relay BEFORE they have a right to bust down your door, take you to court and force you to spend 100K defending yourself.

INSTEAD of just changing the law, so they can use their screwed up data to harrass more innocent people.
So pirates need to stop stealing and the problem will go away.

What a court ask for is of course up to the courts. Judges sign search warrants every day on the word of a police officer. Yes it's a police officer, but I'm sure the judge will ask for some proof. Which will be easy to provide. Ex amount of traffic downloaded this pirated content via this ISP which we would like access to ONLY THIS TRAFFICS INFORMATION.

Yes mistakes happen, if the pirates stop stealing there will be no need for the mistakes. But the pirates don't care how many innocent people get hurt, so long as they can carry on stealing.
