huh. i have individual dual-CPU FreeBSD servers doing >50Mbit . they're just doing images and html, no php no cgi etc. they could do more but they just need more requests.
i've seen 'em hit wirespeed without breaking a sweat (well, until they hit wirespeed, then things start slowing down. dual NIC is the answer to that.)
