Yet if you even say his name around the wrong person you're immediately labeled as some insane nutcase.... for whatever reason... I can only feel deep sorrow for the man himself, who has the cleanest most honestly personality and record in office, that his presense brings such negative controversy. It truely is proof that the world is full of backwards morons that don't give a shit about anything except making everyones lives miserable.
What Sly said and a little more. Look... Dr. Paul is a very likeable person and what he says DOES make alot of sense if it were the 1930's (before The New Deal or shortly after). It's a matter of practicality... the majority of what he is proposing is just unrealistic because, at this point in time, you couldn't implement them without disrupting the world economy and probably causing it to implode. In addition, he makes a great speech about putting the power back in the states hands in the name of the Constitution... but that isn't practical either... because you would end up with a broken republic and lend credence to movements like the confederacy. Although the framers laid out guidelines for us to follow... they were not omnipotent. There is no possible way for them to have foreseen the world we live in today. I think everyone likes the populist conservative tone that Ron Paul represents... it's just not practical.
