i lived in Seattle for years and it did get kind of shitty crossing the boarder in the last few years. i don't think we ever went through where we weren't asked to go show our passports and they asked us questions (me and my wife)
i also got flagged on the way back and sat inside while they searched our car etc and watched people lie to Customs for maybe 3 hrs or so. That was immensely entertaining. For example, a Chinese guy was telling them he was heading to Oregon to see a friend and on his front seat was e-mails, directions etc to Pennsylvania.
"where are you going"
... "Oregon"
"why are you going to Oregon"
... "To see a friend"
"Why do you have a map and directions to Pennsylvania"
... "Do i?"
... "I don't know.. can i see what you're talking about"
"Look, i've got 7 more hours to play this game. I kinda like it and your only way out of here is to start telling me the truth"
... "oh, i'm going to Oregon.. thats the truth"
"why do you have e-mails saying you will be in Pennsylvania on the 12th and a hotel reservation"
... "do i? can i see what you're talking about"
etc etc etc. it went on forever. i kept waiting for them to just arrest him... was curious how it would play out... but after a couple hours, i had to leave.
people are fucking morons. as a world, we spend far too much time, energy and money on stupid people. its an unnecessary drain... and people need to be sterilized.
