I don't think that is that unusual, have heard that one plenty for me. Not for me but IMHO
I think that woman that enjoy that fantasy enjoy it because it is played out in a safe atmosphere. I am sure they would react completely different if they were for example attacked in an alley by a stranger.
As for the snake thing, damn I used to think it was strange that my one friend insisted he be there every time I fed my constrictor. I don't think it was a sexual thing. At least I hope not.
