Just to clarify for you without trying to be a wine snob...

... the French bottle by region, Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a small town/province in southern France that produces many world class wines. $35-$100 is the typical entry point for the newer vintages, in good years the lower priced ones are great deals. Vieux Télégraphe is one of the more popular wines from the region and one of my steady favorites. Most of the wines from this region will be mostly from Syrah grapes.
