According to Sigmund Freud and his contemporaries, dreams where you physically remove your genitalia point to a very serious underlying sexual frustration and confusion... most often representing a deep attraction/contempt dichotomy for the same gender. Dr. Alfred Kinsey seems to have verified, or at least supported, Freud's theory in his prolific 1948 book Sexual Behavior in the Human Male. Kinsey writes, "When a male experiences recurring dreams that involves the self-removal of his genitalia, he is more than likely repressing deep inclinations toward homosexuality. On our seven-point scale, these individuals would be a 5 -- predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual."
